Playing
The Jets season is probably over after this clear slap in Buffalo. The stats still don’t necessarily look bad, but anyone who experienced this offense, or what’s left of it, today will agree that this team will have nothing to do with the playoffs. Of course, quarterback Wilson is once again in focus, but the errors in all parts of the team are so blatant that even Tom Brady at his best would probably be desperate. Today, substitute Boyle took over late, but was just as unable to make an impact. The only bright spot is that New York was at least able to end its atrocious streak of 12 quarters without a touchdown. The Bills, on the other hand, should still be dangerous both in fact and in terms of potential in the AFC. Not everything that glittered was gold today, especially in the first half, but at the end of the day we confidently brought home the game against a completely overwhelmed opponent.

Bills run the clock
Of course, the Bills won’t risk anything anymore and will let the clock tick with running games.

No loss of the ball, but still nothing
The referees ultimately took back the interception because the ball was apparently already on the ground. But immediately afterwards, Boyle is taken off his feet and Morstead has to punt once again.

Second drive, second ball loss for Boyle?

The third section is now over and the mass has long been said. Boyle has now replaced the unfortunate Wilson as quarterback, but his first drive ends in a fumble because receiver Wilson slips the ball out of his hands.

Hopefully this will be over quickly
You can just hope that the teams let the clock run and this is over quickly. It’s not nice to look at, and not just for Jets fans.
00:56
Wilson almost more on the ground than passes
Just imagine: Zach Wilson has now been sacked five times and has only completed seven passes to his receivers. It’s not all his fault, but these numbers are emblematic of the offensive’s lack of effectiveness.

Josh Allen now holds the record with 205 touchdowns
With this touchdown pass, Josh Allen goes into the history books. With 205 touchdowns in his first six seasons, he has overtaken the previous record holder Mahomes, who managed 204. And the season is still long… By the way, third on the list is a certain Dan Marino with 199.

End of 2nd quarter
It’s finally half time and the fact that this type of game is dragging on like this is really ungrateful. Because the Jets offense was basically not competitive until they turned off their heads shortly before halftime and finally made a free drive. Well, the Bills are not in acute danger yet, but they also missed a point or two up front and will have to hope that this doesn’t take revenge somehow.

Jets in der Red Zone
But that shouldn’t obscure the fact that Wilson is once again showing his best football under time pressure. It’s been like that all season. Once he can turn off his head and act with his gut, then suddenly everything works. So the guests actually still have a good chance of scoring points here.
23:58
Sorge a Rapp
We don’t want to see that! The fact that Wilson achieved a first down with a remarkable pass on the fourth attempt unfortunately becomes irrelevant because Rapp remains lying after his tackle and has to be driven off the field. Apparently he hit his head and we wish him a speedy recovery. The game is still not at break because there was another major interruption.

Touchdown by J. Cook (Bills) to make it 0:15
Yes, and if you are given so many opportunities, then it has to work at some point! Allen gets a lot of support from Cook on the ground and then, justifiably, finds that same running back on the air for the touchdown. One is inclined to say that the game is decided.

Well, what about the jets?
Well, as I said: The Jets offense is off the field again after three plays. In this respect, the Bills really don’t have to worry about their lack of touchdowns at the moment.

End of 1st quarter
Unfortunately, the Jets remain a challenge offensively and so a weak red zone performance is enough for the Bills to still lead with confidence.
22:57
Only if the Jets offense continues to be so tame will field goals possibly be enough to win. First Wilson is sacked, and then the guest runs a running game at 3rd & 19. It smells a bit like you don’t trust the quarterback to make these plays and would rather play it safe. To make matters worse, an important offensive lineman, Becton, had to go down injured. That won’t make the attack any smoother…

Field goal by T. Bass (Bills) to 0:6
The Bills are not yet effective in the red zone. Josh Allen was able to advance well with his offense, but at the crucial moment the passing lanes were well covered. So again it’s only enough for three points.

Zach Wilson at a crossroads
Many eyes will be on Jets quarterback Wilson. He wasn’t supposed to appear so prominently this year, but since Rodgers’ injury, the youngster has unfortunately shown once again why he might not have a great career in the NFL. Most recently, his offense went a whopping eleven periods without a touchdown. Today is the next tough test in Buffalo, and at some point the Jets will have to react if the offense continues to fail at all.
21:24
Preliminary decision in the AFC East?
The Bills and the Jets will get down to business in the AFC East at 10:25 p.m. And the game can confidently be seen as a small preliminary decision in the fight for the playoffs between two teams that had certainly expected a little more from the season. Because with five defeats each, they are chasing the Dolpins and currently don’t have the best chances in the wild card race either. These direct duels are of course particularly important.
