Bills Bring Back Familiar Face, Micah Hyde Joins Practice Squad
In a move that rejoins a beloved veteran with a strong team, the Buffalo Bills announced the signing of safety Micah Hyde to the practice squad.
Hyde, a mainstay in the Bills’ defense for seven seasons, brings a wealth of experience and leadership back to the team. The two-time All-Pro selection has been a force in Buffalo’s secondary, racking up 347 tackles and 16 interceptions during his tenure.
"Micah Hyde is in a practice squad role," head coach Sean McDermott stated. "Extremely confident in Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin and Cole Bishop."
Hyde elected not to pursue free agency offers after the 2023 season, hinting at a possible return to Buffalo. General Manager Brandon Beane and McDermott consistently left the door open for a reunion. Now, with the Bills aiming for a deep playoff run, Hyde has rejoined the team he knows best.
Hyde’s familiarity with the defensive system and his veteran presence will undoubtedly benefit the team, especially as a strong backup option for the defensively dominant Rapp and Hamlin.
