Budget relies on stability! That is how much the Free State spends in 2021 and 2022

Dresden – Saxony’s black-green-red government has decided the guard rails for the double budget 2021/22. The negotiations within the coalition were reportedly difficult. CDUFinance Minister Hartmut Vorjohann (57) was happy, despite Corona-To be able to bring imponderables “stability and solidity” into the planning.

Around 21 billion euros are available for each of the next two years. The double budget is supported by loans amounting to two billion euros.
Vorjohann: “We are maintaining the level of expenditure.”
Thanks to funds from the federal government (for example from the structural fund), even slightly more investments are possible. The government wants to pay 800 million euros into the generation fund (for pension payments) and increase its workforce by 2,000 jobs.
The finance minister has already sworn policy for the leaner years to come. Motto: 2023/24 and afterwards it will be very difficult to “do business” properly because of the consequences of the pandemic.
The timetable: At the beginning of December, the government draft of the double budget with all individual plans is to be approved by the cabinet and submitted to the state parliament before Christmas.
The first reading is not expected there until 2021.

There is still money flowing here …
The good news: In 2021/22, Saxony will not cut back on health and social issues. Investments will continue to be made in hospitals, short-term care and integration.
There should also be tailwind for voluntary work.
SPD Economics Minister Martin Dulig (46) has announced that it will provide money for local public transport in rural areas, the purchase of new buses and trains and the maintenance of the state road network. In addition, he would like to provide sufficient investment aid for the economy to secure businesses. He reiterated his support for the establishment of a digital agency, which u. a. should direct the broadband expansion, digitization and the implementation of the mobile radio pact.
Wolfram Günther’s (47, Greens) green department focuses on climate protection in agriculture. It wants to continue to provide sufficient funds for forest conversion and reforestation in state and private forests.
Small communities that run crèches and kindergartens can count on more coal. Saxony has created a new compensation mechanism for this.

… but it’s getting tight here
Anyone who knows the coalition agreement of the ruling parties in Saxony knows that there is a lot of dream music in it. So no surprise: a lot of it is put on hold.
The new double household does not mean that families are noticeably relieved in the future.
Parental contributions for daycare centers or childcare will not decrease in the coming years. The introduction of an education ticket for students is still in the stars. The expansion of the “trainee ticket” offer is shaking more than tremendously.
In the judiciary, the desired additional staff for the prison system and the offices of the courts will not be able to come.
In road construction, the march requirement for the next two years is: preservation. Not new building.
Finance Minister Vorjohann also dampened expectations regarding the continuation and funding of the state’s own funding programs. Much of this is on the dump or can only be continued on the back burner, said the minister.
For his department, Vice-MP Günther stated: “Corona has severely restricted the scope.”
