Budget Committee to Hold Extraordinary Meeting Tomorrow, State Budget to be Adopted by Christmas Despite Failed Parliament Sessions

Despite the failed sessions of the parliament this week, the state budget will be adopted by Christmas, finance minister Asen Vasilev predicted to bTV, quoted by novini.bg.

Tomorrow, the MPs from the budget committee in the National Assembly will hold an extraordinary meeting.

“Regardless of the criticism of big business, there will be no step back from the tax laws, such as for the additional corporate tax for large national and foreign companies, because the texts have already been approved by the National Assembly in the second reading,” Vassilev was categorical.

“There are changes, some of which are supported by the Ministry of Finance. Today the working group will pass and we will see for real at the budget committee what will be accepted and what will be rejected. The main changes are in line with municipal projects, additional money was announced for culture and a few other smaller changes, and the funding for these measures, because money has to be found somewhere, comes in the form of increased fees for gambling operators,” he said.
