The MPs voted for the corresponding project with a large majority. They hope for better protection against hate speech – especially for vulnerable groups and minorities. If online hate speech were to be added to the list of EU crimes, it would be made clear across Europe what falls under hate speech and what is punishable. However, there is currently no agreement on the issue among the 27 EU states that have to agree to the plan. | Jan 18, 2024 9:05 p.m
