Budget 2020: “Government doesn’t care about Parliament”

The 2020 budget was decided in committee, although the mandataries do not know what it looks like in detail and how the state is distributing its billions in aid. The opposition is foaming.

Vienna. It is one of the central rights of a parliament: the approval and control of the budget. But it is precisely in the Second Republic’s greatest economic crisis that Parliament has little say. The budget committee of the National Council has approved a state budget for 2020 that is waste because you do not know the actual income and expenditure. And the billion dollar aid to companies is also given without parliamentary support.
