Budapest Approves Appointment of Professor Fyodor Shandor as New Ukrainian Ambassador

Budapest agreed to the appointment of Professor Fyodor Shandor as the new Ambassador of Ukraine.

A new Ukrainian ambassador will appear in Hungary. A candidate has already been agreed – a soldier of the 101st Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Information confirmed on the evening of August 8, Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Gerashchenko.

Ukraine will have a new Hungarian ambassador. Too complex a country that requires special attention… Budapest agreed on the appointment of Fyodor Shandor… Agreman was sent back in the spring“, the People’s Deputy wrote.

She wished the new ambassador good luck in his post.

It should be noted that 48-year-old Shandor is a professor at Uzhgorod National University, who, as part of the 101st brigade of the defense, protects Ukraine from Russian aggression. In 2022, footage with a professor scattered across the Web, in which he taught his students right from the trench in full military gear.

In September 2023, Sandor was awarded the Golden Cross of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Note that Ukraine and Hungary have very complicated relations. The authorities of this country do not hide their pro-Russian and anti-Ukrainian views. In particular, they interfere in every possible way with the integration of Ukraine into the EU and NATO, block sanctions against Russia, and also incite separatist sentiments in the western part of Ukraine. Relations have not improved since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Dialog.UA previously reported that Hungary blocks major EU aid to Ukraine.

We also wrote that Hungarian Prime Minister Orban made new scandalous statements about Ukraine and Putin.
