Buckingham Palace released a new photo of Queen Elizabeth II, just hours before her funeral.
The photo, taken in May before the platinum jubilee celebrations, shows the Queen smiling brightly at the camera in her home at Windsor Castle.
The queen wears a dark blue dress with her elegantly curly hair and the photo shows her favorite three strand pearl necklace, pearl earrings and aquamarine and diamond brooches which were her 18th birthday gift from her father George VI in 1944. .
The dress has two Art Deco pieces, one under the other, made by the French jeweler Boucheron, oval and round diamonds and aquamarine.
Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral will be held in London on Monday, in the presence of numerous world leaders, members of the royal family and other dignitaries, the political elite, army leaders, the judiciary and charities in Britain.
It is expected that at 7:30 pm London time, the ruling family will attend a private burial ceremony for the Queen, and her burial with her husband, Prince Philip, at the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
