Buckingham Palace posted a photo on Saturday of the resting place Queen Elizabeth The latter is located in the Royal Chapel of Windsor, where a stone bears her name and the names of her parents and husband, Prince Philip.
The stone, made of Belgian black marble, is placed in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, commissioned by Queen Elizabeth in 1962 as a burial place for her father, George VI.
The queen was buried there Monday after a state funeral at Westminster Abbey.
“George VI 1895-1952 / Elizabeth 1900-2002” is engraved on the stone in copper letters in the two upper lines, followed by a star belonging to a high honor and then “Elizabeth II 1926-2022 / Philip 1921-2021” in le lower rows.
Queen Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret is also buried in the chapel of Windsor Castle in west London.
Queen Elizabeth died on 8 September at Balmoral Castle, her summer residence in the Scottish Highlands, after having ascended the throne for 70 years, and her son Charles ascended the throne.
