Buckingham Palace has released a photo from Elizabeth II’s chapel of rest.

Buckingham Palace has released a photo of the new tombstone marking Queen Elizabeth II’s final resting place. The public can now get a glimpse of the chapel, which will open to Windsor Castle visitors late next week.

The black plaque was set in the floor of the chapel of George VI. to Windsor Castle, where the Queen was buried. The queen’s name, her parents and her late husband, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, were set in stone. The new plate replaces the previous one, which was dedicated to George VI. and the Queen Mother.

All four members of the royal family were members of the Order of the Garter, Britain’s highest and oldest royal honor. The history of the order dates back to the Middle Ages and has been assigned to monarchs and other dignitaries, including former prime ministers and former military leaders.

The newly installed stone is also surrounded by floral tributes and garlands to celebrate the queen’s death. The stone is made of hand-carved Belgian black marble with brass lettering.

The public will also have access to the chapel from Thursday, every day except Sunday, when the chapel is open only to believers. According to the castle website, entrance to the castle costs £ 26.50 for an adult on weekdays, on Saturdays it costs £ 2 more.
