Without 13 players, Buchonia Flieden scored a point in the derby of the Hessen Nord association league against Britannia from Eichenzell. With a strengthened U23 team, Flieden managed a 0-0 draw. We have the best scenes for you in the video.
The reason was obvious: Flieden had to replace no fewer than 13 players, including the experienced goalkeeper Florian Wess and, at short notice, the sick Andre Vogt and Sebastian Alles. A total of five players born in 2005 were in the starting line-up, including Valentin Barth from the start for the first time. He also had the best opportunity of the entire game when, after Homan Halimi’s shot, the ball, which had been blocked by keeper Grösch, fell in front of his foot, but Brth fell behind a bit (13th).

“We had more possession in the first half and clearly had better chances. I would even go so far as to say that we were clearly the better team,” said Flieden’s coach Christian Kreß, pleased about the absolutely courageous performance of his “strengthened U-23”. The average age was under 23 years. “We’re happy to take the point with us, even if you can be unlucky after the break that Eichenzell might slip through something like that,” said Kreß, whose “rattle gang” was led by Christian Bohl as captain. The outstanding player on the field was Clemente Banh, who allowed next to nothing with his defensive line around youngsters Rafael Best, Jonas Hilgenberg and Marcel Schöppner.

And so after the game in front of a good 400 spectators, Flieden was able to feel like a moral victor against an Eichenzell team in which the experienced players in particular owed almost everything. One might have expected the decisive ball, especially from players like Marcel Ludwig or Ferhat Yildiz – but it didn’t come.
After a game in which neither Maximilian Fritz nor Chris Grösch were seriously challenged even once, Eichenzell has to wait for a win after the ninth competitive game in a row. “From the table situation, everyone knows what is at stake and that there is a lack of self-confidence. That’s understandable. We fought well and defended a lot. We should have looked for the ball deeper, but unfortunately we never managed to do that. So of course it will be difficult,” said Eichenzell’s coach Romeo Andrijasevic.
