BTS holds the most number 1 songs on Billboard’s “Hot 100” in the past 10 years

The global supergroup “BTS” has proven its status as a “21st century pop icon” in name and reality.

US Billboard recently announced through official social media that BTS was the artist with the most songs on the Billboard “Hot 100” lead singles chart for the past 10 years.

During this time, BTS uploaded 6 songs to the top of the “Hot 100”. He was followed by Drake (5 songs), Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift (4 songs each) and Justin Bieber and Nicky Minaj (3 songs each).

BTS became the first Korean singer to reach the top of the “Hot 100” (as of September 5, 2020) with “Dynamite” (3 times) and in the same year, the remix version of “Savage Love” (1) and “Life Even Goes On ‘(episode 1) was on top.

Last year, BTS released six songs, including “Butter” (10 times), “Permission to Dance” (1) and the Coldplay collaboration song “My Universe” (1), with a total of 17 “Hot 100” top.

Throughout the history of “Hot 100”, it ranks second on the charts of the “Hot Shot” debut song, which went straight to number one with entry. Except for the remix of “Savage Love” which is a featured song, all other songs debuted at number one on “Hot 100”. As for the top in the field, Trek holds the record for more with 7 songs. Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande are tied with BTS in the count.

Additionally, BTS is the first Korean artist to include more than 10 songs in the top 10 of Billboard’s “Hot 100”. ‘On’ 4th, ‘Poems for Small Things’ 8th, ‘Fake Love’ 10th, ‘Bad Decisions’ by Benny Blanco 10th with vocal line, etc.

Jin’s first official solo single “The Astronaut”, released on the 28th of last month, is expected to hit the “Hot 100” on the 12th, due out soon. Taylor Swift recently dominated the ‘Hot 100’, so it will be difficult to reach the top 10, but it will be easy to get into the leaderboard.

In addition to “Hot 100”, BTS are steadily gaining popularity on the Billboard charts. The anthology album “Proof”, released in June, ranked 52nd on the “Billboard 200” main album chart in the latest chart (as of November 5) and remained on the chart for 20 consecutive weeks. It was ranked 3rd in ‘World Album’, 24th in ‘Top Current Album Sales’ and 28th in ‘Top Album Sales’.
