BTS Fans Protest Against Government’s Request for K-Pop Concert Participation

The BTS fan community Bulletproof Boy Scouts Callary issued a statement on the 8th and said, “We resolutely reject the anti-democracy that pushes BTS into the pit in order to revive the national prestige of the Republic of Korea, which has been shattered by the ‘Jamboree Crisis’.”

“We once again clearly emphasize that BTS’ participation in K-POP concerts at the coercive request of the government is a regression of democracy and ‘abuse of power’,” they strongly condemned.

Netizens who seem to be BTS fans poured out criticism on social networking services, such as “Is BTS a government-exclusive singer at this point?”

Earlier, Seong Il-jong, a member of the People’s Power, argued on Facebook that day, “BTS, a global group, should appear at the Jamboree K-Pop Concert.”

“It is necessary to fill the schedule that was lacking in Saemangeum with the power of Korean culture,” he said. Please take action.”

In BTS, Jin was the first to enlist in December last year, and J-Hope enlisted in April this year and is currently serving.

The K-Pop Concert, the main event of the Jamboree, will be held on the 11th at the Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul.
