The main awards at the European Music Awards (MTV EMA) ceremony on Sunday night went to South Korean pop group BTS and American pop star Lady Gaga. The event was hosted by Little Mix and featured singers Ališa Kīza, Sam Smith, Doja Cat and DaBaby. The MTV EMA ceremonies, launched in 1994, are one of the two largest shows organized by MTV. The other is the MTV Video Music Awards, which have been held in the United States since 1984.
