BSV Schüren: Well-known newcomers after a failed change

Westfalenliga 2

In the Westfalenliga 2, BSV Schüren has remained far behind expectations so far. After seven games, the team around coach Arthur Matlik is in 15th place in the table. The sobering start of the season forces the club to make further transfers.

Before the season stood by BSV Stoking ten newcomers compared to ten departures. A radical wave of transfers that has not yet borne fruit with a meager four points from the first seven games. Therefore the interim conclusion falls from Arthur Matlik also rather moderate. “We don’t seem to have succeeded in making the change,” the trainer judges in an interview RevierSport and explains: “We couldn’t compensate for the most basic and painful departures well enough.”

In order to save the season, if it is possibly continued in the spring, the Dortmund team were once again active on the transfer market during the forced break. With Jonas Schneck from ASC Dortmund a talented striker from the league could be released. The 21-year-old has the experience of 15 games in the Oberliga Westfalen as well as 24 games in the A-Juniors Bundesliga and gives his new coach hope for improvement in attack. “I’m very happy about the commitment and of course I promise myself some goals from him. At the same time, he wants to play more than in the last few years. ”A win-win situation for both parties. Matlik does not want to put too much pressure on the clipper when restarting. “Of course we don’t expect any miracles after a long time off from football,” emphasizes the 43-year-old.

In addition, the BSV was able to secure the services of another top-class player. Massimo Ornatelli has found his new football home in Schüren. The German-Italian has played in 140 third division games and even has six games in the 2nd Bundesliga. A real transfer coup for a Westphalian league team, as the coach thinks. “We are very happy that in Massimo we were able to win such an experienced man for us. He will both playfully help us on the pitch and complete our coaching team. “

Matlik has ambitious goals, Acquistapace remains

The last transfer hammer for the BSV Stir up not long back. In the summer, Jonas Acquistapace, a former professional at VfL Bochum, was one of the new achievements. An unbelievable stroke of luck for Matlik. “Jonas has an incredible quality, the boy doesn’t actually belong in this league. To this day I still can’t quite believe that he’s playing for us. ”

But he knows that the central defender cannot win games alone. “The collective has to work better, even Lionel Messi would not have scored more points for us in the first few games,” the head coach smiles. In any case, he can look forward to working with the 31-year-old next year. Acquistapace recently renewed its contract for another year.

Matlik himself will remain with the BSV, regardless of the league, and will start his fourth season on the sidelines from summer. He is looking forward to the future: “The environment here is just right for me. I’m dying to continue and have the dream of leading the BSV into the top league in the long term. “
