Overview of the 2nd matchday in the Regionalliga Nord.

At the start of the 2nd match day of the Regionalliga Nord, BSV Kickers Emden and SC Weiche Flensburg 08 were both able to celebrate narrow 1-0 home victories. While Emden held its own against SV Meppen, Flensburg only decided its game against SV Drochtersen/Assel shortly before the end.

In a hard-fought match, BSV Kickers Emden secured three important points against SV Meppen. David Schiller scored the only goal of the day in the 28th minute. Meppen had to play with a man down from the 53rd minute after Jonathan Wensing was shown a second yellow card for repeated fouls. In the final phase, the task became even more difficult for Meppen when Jonas Fedl was sent off with a red card in the 90th minute.

The duel between SC Weiche Flensburg 08 and SV Drochtersen/Assel remained goalless for a long time. It was not until the 88th minute that Jakob Johansson scored the decisive goal for the hosts. The match was characterized by a solid defensive performance from both teams, with Flensburg ultimately coming out on top.

The newly promoted team from Bremen suffered a bitter defeat in their opening match. After leading 3-1, TSV Havelse turned the game around to 4-3 within 15 minutes. The goal to make it 2-3 came in the 76th minute. From Bremen’s point of view, this bitter setback is now something to forget. Their opponents from Norderstedt kept a clean sheet against VfB Oldenburg on the first match day and scored two goals themselves. A successful start for the FC.

Like the Kickers from Emden, 1. FC Phönix Lübeck will not start the new season until next weekend. The FC will travel to Lohne to face BWL, who managed to get a point in their first game against FC Teutonia Ottensen. However, Phönix’s dress rehearsal in the cup against VfB Lübeck failed. During the week, they lost 2-1 to VfB in the SHFV cup.

VfB Oldenburg wants to collect its first points in the first home game of the new season. After the 2-0 opening defeat, the first points are now to be gained against FC Teutonia. The Teutons already collected these on the first match day in a 1-1 draw against BWL. Last season, Teutonia won the direct duel with a win and a draw.

The newly promoted SV Todesfelde also suffered its first defeat in the new league on the first match day. They held their own against the relegated VfB Lübeck for a long time, but had to admit defeat after a bitter own goal in the 85th minute. At Havelse, however, the mood is good after the spectacular 4:3 against Werder Bremen II.

After the first matchday, Bremer SV goes into the second matchday as interim league leaders. After a comfortable 3-0 win against Hamburger SV II, the SV’s next match is against an U23 team. This time the opponent is the U23 team from Holstein Kiel, who started the new season with one point.
