/ world today news/ The National Council of the BSP meets in a meeting to analyze and evaluate the election results of the local vote.
Already after the elections, it became clear that members of the leadership of the BSP have categorically stated that they are submitting their resignations to the National Council, where it will be decided whether they should be accepted. Then the leader of the BSP, Mikhail Mikov, stated that an analysis of the party’s performance in the elections will be made at the plenum, for which it is necessary to make evaluations by places. This is done in order not to give “ultimate truth”, as was the practice in other parties.
“The result of the second round outlines that the BSP has mayors in 60 municipalities without a single regional city. There can be no other assessment except that this is a heavy loss, which, however, does not correspond to the suggestions to erase the BSP from the political map of the country,” was Mikov’s assessment of the elections. “I think that we are the second political force and that the votes for BSP are 390 thousand, from BSP – Left Bulgaria they have about 36 thousand votes. I think that the numbers are clear and any interpretations are a subjective approach,” the leader stressed.
“There is going to be a heavy analysis of the plenum on the results of the elections. Before looking into the question of responsibility and resignations, it is necessary to assess the contribution of each party organization in the country. I hope for a responsible discussion,” BSP spokesman Atanas Merdzhanov told BNT today.
