Doubts that the new political project of the two former caretaker ministers Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev is aimed at profiting from the absorption of EU funds, former BSP MP and member of the National Council Dragomir Stoynev told BNT.

I don’t like the word “project”, it is chasing profit and it has an end. Bulgaria must absorb BGN 40 billion. They must be managed and assimilated. And then this entity will disappear. We want this money to be invested in changing the Bulgarian economy and quality education, and not someone to divert them, “Stoynev said. Asked whether the BSP feared competition from the left, Stoynev said that “everyone knows that the BSP is the left party”.

According to him, President Rumen Radev owes the BSP explanations as to whether he supports the initiative of Petkov and Vassilev, and called on him “to look into the eyes of the Bulgarian socialists and tell the truth.” “The BSP found Rumen Radev, nominated him for president, campaigned for him, elected him president, in the toughest battles against GERB BSP was behind Rumen Radev and we want to know if he supports the project of the two ministers,” the politician said.

Asked whether the BSP’s attitude towards Radev would change depending on the answer, Stoynev replied: “We have stated that we will support him anyway.”
