/ world today news/ The BSP has the character and appearance of a stable opposition, and this image of it is becoming clearer and more prominent. In recent months, the signal for action on important topics has come from the BSP.
This was stated to Nova TV by the deputy chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP, Yanaki Stoilov. As an example of such topics, he gave – the release of the stopped several dozen trains – after the intervention of the BSP, the immediate reaction regarding the government’s intention to drastically increase the national debt, the reaction to the war in Ukraine. “This is how the BSP should act – as a party that expresses the interests of citizens and is ready to participate in protests, following a clear line of behavior,” he categorically stated. According to him, when the important questions are raised in a timely and reasoned way, the society understands what it is about and in some cases actively reacts.
“People must know that they need the BSP and it needs them even more. The left must continue its change and thus respond to today’s realities,” said the vice-chairman of the left.
He emphasized that the current government is a government of: the huge national debt, the end of privatization, the deepening of social divisions and the freezing of social payments. “The biggest merit of the current cabinet is ensuring its stability,” he declared. The socialist was categorical that the mentality of GERB continues to be such that if there is no strong public reaction – everything that is planned – passes.
According to Stoilov, the government does not want to create tension in society, but at the same time it does not want to change the policy. “The policy that is being proposed now is a continuation of the old one, only “sanitized”, he commented. In his words, when the biggest project for the mandate of a government is a project like the one on sanitation, and on the other side there is the rejection of several energy projects and has no idea about the country’s industrialization, it seems disturbing that there is a change in the management style, according to him, Borisov is now distributing responsibilities to his partners, while this was not the case before everything knew that the responsibility rests with the one who steers the ship, now it is transferred to the crew. will be asked of her, Borisov tries to speak in the language of the people and reassures that this will not happen. He stated that in this situation there is a servile Bulgarian position that cannot form a national interest even in the EU nor in NATO and is attackable from both the East and the West.
On the issue of the new state debt of 16 billion BGN who wants to take over the government, Stoilov recalled that even in the program of the rulers there is no argument that Bulgaria should withdraw this loan. He explained that in the 2015 budget law, which was adopted, more than 6 billion BGN such a loan, and suddenly it becomes 16 billion. BGN “The fact that it is not clearly stated what this money will be used for indicates that there are other motives,” said Stoilov. He emphasized that these funds are comparable to the country’s budget for one year and recalled that when in 2013 a debt of 1 billion had to be withdrawn. BGN, the president has vetoed it. “Let’s see if this law will return it 16 times, after giving 16 times more debt,” commented the vice-president of the left. When asked if this would become a reason for the motion of no confidence, he replied that if the government continues in its desire to withdraw this large loan, this issue will have to be discussed. He recalled that the case had created a scandal in the parliamentary committees as well. Stoilov emphasized that this debt will burden every subsequent administration, which will not be able to maneuver calmly for the implementation of various policies.
