BSP is waiting for answers from CEM about the program “Deconstruction” –

/ world today news/ On the occasion of the scandalous interruption of the broadcast of the program “Deconstruction” on BNR, the BSP asked the Council for Electronic Media in an official letter why the program was taken off the air of the National Radio.

The socialists ask whether a proposal to impose a property sanction on the BNR under the Law on Radio and Television because of the program “Deconstruction” was discussed at a meeting of the CEM. “If there is such a sanction, when and what exactly was decided, and it is also not clear which provisions of this law were violated?”, they demand to receive an answer from the BSP.

According to the socialists, the media statements of the chairman of the SEM, Georgi Lozanov, did not contribute to clarifying the case, and his general statements that the principle of pluralism was not observed in the broadcast, do not find legal basis.

The BSP asks whether any legal violations have been established at all in accordance with Art. 127, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and if so, who is the official who ascertained them and with what act?

It is not clear to the BSP whether a preliminary conversation was held with the Management Board of BNR on this occasion and on what basis the regulator is discussing its possible intentions with the media. According to the BSP, such actions resemble censorship and pressure.

Socialists also ask whether similar actions were taken before this case and whether similar sanctions were imposed on the program “Deconstruction” as well as on other programs in the public media?

The BSP appeals to the CEM with a request for a quick response due to the created public tension that the actions of the BNR leadership have caused, but also due to the importance of the issue that is being discussed in society today.

“Ultimately, it is a question of compliance with constitutional principles for freedom of speech in Bulgaria, the main guardian of which should be CEM,” the letter sent by BSP to the Council for Electronic Media also states.
