BSP failed the scenario of Bulgarians paying deposits for BGN 3.5 billion in KTB – 2024-08-20 07:46:38

/ world today news/ The responsibility lies with the BNB – according to the Constitution and by law, he claims. According to the economist, the bankruptcy of the bank was deliberate. According to him, it is absurd that there are more than 80 private banks in small Bulgaria

“Responsibility for KTB lies with the one who has the right to regulate and control the bank – and this is the BNB, according to the Constitution and the law.” This is what the People’s Representative from “BSP for Bulgaria” Rumen Gechev told bTV. He was adamant that the bankruptcy of KTB was the collapse of banking supervision for the second time since 1995-96.

“The question is whether it was due to incompetence or whether it was intentional. I know most of the colleagues there and I maintain that this is not due to incompetence. I see an evil intention,” said the representative.

He added that the former deputy governor of the central bank, Tsvetan Gunev, sent people from the supervision to check KTB and who must have observed violations, but at the moment there is no information about who they are and where they are.

“In little Bulgaria, there are over 80 private banks, some created with loans from state banks, which is absurd in world practice, and the licenses were given to waiters, cowherds, shepherds, etc., who assisted in the looting of Bulgaria,” added the economist.

Prof. Rumen Gechev explained that from the second transcript, declassified by the presidency, it is clear that an attempt was made at the meeting to adopt a special law to return the depositors’ money in its unlimited amount.

“In other words, all Bulgarians had to pay those who had deposits over BGN 200,000 – and that’s BGN 3.5 billion. BSP has failed this scenario,” he said.
