BSP enters into negotiations for a vote of no confidence in the government –

/ world today news/ This week we will look for talks with the parliamentary groups that are not in the ruling majority, to discuss a vote of no confidence in the government. This was stated by the BSP leader Mikhail Mikov at a press conference at the party’s headquarters.

“There are a number of government policies that cause dissatisfaction, criticism, crisis. In addition to health care, demographic policy, the inability of the government to deal with crime is emerging. The frequent murders are an indicator of the absence of politics in this area”, added Mikhail Mikov. He explained that for the BSP it is extremely important to define the border between the ruling party and the opposition during the current parliamentary season.

“We believe that there are conditions for a vote of no confidence, including in the field of internal security and the fight against crime. The case in Ovcha Kupel, which is systemic – in the capital of Bulgaria, security is not provided on the streets. There were incidents last week”, listed Mikov. He was adamant that the state should not lose control over the situation in order to reach public tension, such as is happening on the streets of German cities. The DPS will be the first to be asked for a possible vote of no confidence.

We do not support business organizations, Mikov said in relation to whether the BSP will join the call for the resignation of Interior Minister Rumiana Bachvarova by KRIB. For his part, Atanas Merdzhanov commented that even when Bachvarova was proposed for Minister of Power, the left said that the de facto Minister of Internal Affairs was the Prime Minister, and today he confirmed this. “He takes absolute and direct responsibility for the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” Merdzhanov also said.

Regarding the candidacy of the BSP for a presidential couple, Mikov explained succinctly that talking about the presidential elections should not obscure the main problems facing the country. “This is a process that some have been trying to shift since the beginning of the year, it will happen in the BSP after the congress. For us, what is important is politics, opposition behavior and creation of clear alternatives to today’s governance of the neoliberal model, the model of liberal democracy, which often goes beyond the framework of the constitution”, said Mikov.

He pointed out that the first and clear question is what kind of president Bulgaria wants and what kind of president can restore the authority of the presidential institution, which does not get involved in internal political disputes. “There is no other than the current president who has attacked the government and the parliament in such a brutal way, if we are going to elect someone like that, we will not participate in this,” the leader of the left vowed.

Regarding talks with ABV about a single left-wing candidacy, according to Mikov, first the parties within the governing coalition should clarify whether they will have a single presidential candidacy. We saw their collaboration in the local elections, but the chairs of president and vice president are only two, he said.

Asked if he will run for BSP leader again, Mikov said: “I will decide. I’ll let you know when I decide. Much depends on the assessment and desire of the party organizations and members of the BSP for the party’s course and policy. The BSP is not a leading party and this issue is not of primary importance, as it is in other parties”, stressed Mikhail Mikov.
