BSI University takes part in the declaration of the Penthahelix Collaboration Towards Ending AIDS 2030

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK — December 1 is celebrated as World AIDS Day. BSI University (Bina Sarana Informatika) commemorated the day with elements of the Depok city government, business and industrial circles, the Depok community and local media in the city of Depok.

The activity entitled ‘Joint Declaration of Collaborative Penthahelix Academics, Business, Community, Government and Media Towards Ending AIDS 2030 Depok City’ which was held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 08.00 to 12.00 WIB, located at the Lotus Hall, 1st Floor, Depok City Hall, Jl Margonda Raya No 54 Depok .

Events that are specially packaged through a hybrid method, namely: offline with strict health protocols involving elements of the Depok government leadership starting from the Depok Health Service, Depok Education Office, Depok Social Service and other agencies.

This commemoration was also attended by Depok BNN, Depok HIV AIDS Care NGO, Depok industry players and local media leaders in Depok.

Celebration world AIDS day This was also carried out online involving invitations from the sub-district and village heads in Depok, heads of SMP/SMA/vocational schools in Depok, Heads of Community Health Centers and Hospitals in Depok, Head of Depok WPA (Aids Concerned Citizens), and Assistant Cadre for PLWHA (People With HIV AIDS) Depok. and several Depok city communities online via zoom.

The chairman of the Depok City AIDS Commission (KPA), Khaerudin, who led the declaration, said that the purpose of this declaration was a strategic partnership between academics, the private sector (business), the community (community), the government and the media, through the Regional AIDS Commission (KPAD). ), becomes very important and strategic to realize Ending AIDS 2030 in Depok City, West Java.

“One of the things stated in the declaration is to accelerate the HIV/AIDS prevention and control program through the 3 zero strategy (Zero New Infection, Zero AIDS Related Death, Zero Discrimination) and behavior change approaches at every promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative stage in the city. Depok, West Java province,” said Khearudin, Wednesday (1/12).

The World AIDS Day commemoration event at the Depok City Hall was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Depok, Imam Budi Hartono, who said that until now, there is no cure for HIV/AIDS.

“Therefore, the entire community is advised to stay away from free sex. This is so that there are no new cases that could result in an increase in HIV/AIDS cases, both in the city of Depok and outside the city of Depok,” said Imam, Wednesday (1/12).

Head of the Depok Health Service, Mary Lizyawati who was also present at this event conveyed a message, according to her, for PLWHA, they can do a CVT HIV test at the nearest puskesmas so that it is monitored and if the results are positive, mentoring will be given.

Head of Campus BSI University Margonda campus, Taat Kuspriyono who represented the Chancellor of BSI University who was present at the commemoration of World AIDS Day, through interviews said that activities like this were very useful as a medium of information and education to the public regarding HIV.

“Hopefully in the future this declaration that involves many elements will be a real manifestation of educating the public so that it can reduce the number of people living with HIV/AIDS in the city of Depok,” said Taat, Wednesday (1/12).
