BY Vijayendra, the son of former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa, will contest the upcoming elections from Shikaripura, the same seat his father won seven times since 1983. This comes after speculation that he may contest against state Congress chief Siddaramaiah in Varuna. Yediyurappa has said that there is “no question” of his son contesting from Varuna for any reason. Vijayendra has expressed that he will respect the party high command’s decision on the BJP’s Karnataka battle plan. Karnataka’s assembly election will be held on May 10 with the results being released on May 13.
