GABLE. Brynäs has a solid grip on a final place, after another victory against Karlskoga.
The second semi degenerated towards the end, with lots of infighting.
– We play 60 minutes regardless of the result, that much I can say, says Karlskoga’s Albin Eriksson.
Four victories are required for Brynäs to play in the final with an SHL place in the pot. And now the Gävle team is halfway there.
The 3-2 victory on Monday after extra time was followed up with another victory in the Montior ERP arena.
Semi-final two was scoreless for a long time.
But halfway into the match, Anton Rödin took matters into his own hands and sent in 1-0 in the powerplay. A result that stood up to the start of the third period.
Then Brynäs top scorer Jack Kopacka scored as he did on Monday – goal in the power play.
Grumpy ending
2–0 to the home team became 3–0 in the final minutes when the same Kopacka struck again and Brynäs eventually won 4–1.
– I think we play a good match from the start. We are patient and keep grinding. In the end, the dividend will also come, says Anton Rödin.
In the final minutes, several fights broke out and it was crowded in both expulsion booths.
– I don’t attach much importance to it, says Rödin.
– It is as it should be, I think. Fun for us and fun for the audience, says Karlskoga forward Albin Eriksson.

Now two matches await in Karlskoga, starting on Friday.
– They will try to come out and put pressure and be tackled and all that. It is important that we are ready from the start, just as we have been in these two matches, and grind on for 60 minutes, says Anton Rödin.
Karlskoga has a little to file on before their two home games.
– They are skilled in the power play and that is really where it is decided. We don’t take advantage of our chances, I think, says Albin Eriksson.
