GABLE. Brynäs is ready for the final in the Hockeyallsvenskan for a place in the SHL.

The first final match in the best of seven is played at home on Wednesday, April 17.

The semi-final hero was Johan Larsson, who scored the decisive 4–3 powerplay goal in the dramatic overtime thriller.

It was a crazy last few minutes of the third period when first Simen Andre Edvardsen coolly lifted the 3-2 goal with 1.55 left in the match.

With goalkeeper Damian Clara in the box, Anton Rödin then equalized to make it 3-3 on a rebound puck with 18 seconds left.

The jubilation of the goal was deafening and the crowd pressure crazy in extra time, it was not made worse by the decision when there were 53 seconds left in the fourth period when Johan Larsson lifted the puck in front of the goal.

– It’s absolutely wonderful, this is how it should be. Playoffs, packed stadiums and the nerves on the outside. It is impossible to describe the feeling you have when the puck goes in and they point at the goal. I was just asking how the last goal went. Oh, wonderful!, says Jacob Blomqvist.

“Carried us forward today”

The Brynäs forward wanted to pay tribute to the supporters and thank them for the enormous support leading up to the victory.

– They are the ones who make us manage to equalize at the end and decide here. You go short on people and see them, then they lined up in the arena when we got some long substitutions. All of a sudden, even more energy came to the body. They carried us forward today, says “Jacke”.

The superior league winner Brynäs has found top form ahead of the decision on the place in the SHL next season.

It is now 18 wins in the last 19 games and twelve straight wins in Gävle, where they have not lost since January 28.

They swept Nybro 4–0 in matches in the quarter-finals and won 4–1 in matches in the semi-finals against Bik Karlskoga.

– We have gained patience in the group. Regardless of what is written in matches, we just enjoy and believe in what we do, says “Jacke”.

Kelleher drev Brynäs

Brynäs had a dream start to the game when Tyler Kelleher went around the goal and whipped the puck into the goal after 42 seconds.

It was total chaos in Bik Karlskoga in the first few minutes and Tyler Kelleher was close to scoring another goal before a minute had passed.

The little wizard has scored seven games in a row, since returning from injury he has scored 18 points in 15 games.

Top speed towards goal

It went away really well when Johannes Kinnvall made it 2-1 from a free kick by Johan Larsson in a rush of 50 meters from his own zone.

Jesper Norbäck equalized at 1-1 for Bik Karlskoga when he stepped on goal and pushed in a backhand.

Hampus Plato equalized at 2–2 on a direct shot at the far cross in the power play.

In the second period, Simen Andre Edvardsen was sent off when Johan Larsson lost his helmet in a duel.

– We would hate to take our helmets off. I would also like to have such helmets, which fly off so easily, says Hampus Plato to TV4.

In the second semi-final, Djurgården has 3–1 in matches against Mora.
