According to Governor Alexander Bogomaz, Russian air defense systems shot down nine drones. The wreckage of the downed drone fell on a house under construction.
On the night of February 8-9, the territory of the Bryansk region was attacked by drones, Governor of the region Alexander Bogomaz said on Telegram. He claimsthat the drones were launched by the Ukrainian side, but nothing was said about the type of UAV.
“Tonight, Ukrainian nationalists attacked the territory of the Starodubsky municipal district with an UAV. The attack was repelled by the air defense system of the RF Armed Forces,” the governor wrote.
According to him, nine out of nine drones were shot down by air defense systems. There are no casualties or injuries, and emergency services are working at the scene.
Bogomaz later clarified that in the Bryansk region, the wreckage of a downed drone fell on a house under construction, but the operational services eliminated the consequences. The scale of destruction will be assessed and the owner will be compensated for the damage, the governor said.
Some Russian channels specify that the drones were shot down in the Starodubsky municipal district. Note that the city of Starodub, Bryansk region, is located about 60 km from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Russian media reportthat since February 3, the “yellow level of terrorist danger” has been set indefinitely in the Bryansk region. Also, according to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated October 19, 2022, a regime of “medium response” was introduced in the region.
Ukrainian official sources have not yet commented on the event.
Recall that on February 7, in the Sevsky district of the Bryansk region, an unknown drone dropped an explosive device on the Russian military. According to the ASTRA project, two Russian servicemen were injured in the explosion – a conscript soldier Balashov and a platoon commander Gunaev.
Earlier, RosSMI reported that on January 14, an attack using a Ukrainian drone on a substation was prevented in the Bryansk region. It was reported that one of the guards of the facility allegedly “covered a grenade” that was dropped from a UAV.
