Brutal Killing of Young Kabaddi Player in Punjab: Latest Updates and Investigation

Chandigarh: A Kabaddi player was hacked to death in front of his house in Punjab. The assailants left the severely injured young man outside the house after telling his parents, ‘Here lies your lion cub’. The youth’s father has identified the main accused in the case, but the police have not yet arrested the assailants.

A young man named Hardeep Singh was killed. He and local resident Harpreet Singh had a long-standing dispute. Police have cases against both of them. The father of Hardeep Singh, who was killed, said in his complaint to the police that his son did not stay at home because he was afraid of the police.

Hardeep came home on Tuesday evening and left with the bank passbook. Around 10:30 p.m., I heard someone knocking on the door of the house. He did not dare to go out, so he went up to the terrace and looked. It was Harpreet Singh and his followers. They were a group of five people. ‘Your son has been killed. His story is over. Here lies your lion cub,’ they kept shouting. Hardeep Singh’s father gave a statement to the police that when he opened the door, he saw his son lying in a pool of blood.

The father also gave a statement to the police that before his death, Hardeep told him that Harpreet and his followers were cutting and injuring him with deadly weapons. The injured youth was taken to hospital in Jalandhar but his life could not be saved.

The murder of the young man is now being discussed at the political level. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal alleged that under the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, jungle raj is prevailing in Punjab. The police said that the investigation into the murder of the youth is in progress.
