Brutal! Gangs of Bandits Burn Bus, 30 Passengers Burned To Death

BAUCHI – At least 30 passengers on a bus in the state of Sokoto, Nigeria , burned alive to death by a group of armed men known as bandit . The sadistic incident was disclosed by the police and local residents. This is another signal of growing insecurity in Africa’s most populous nation.

Police spokesman for the northwestern Sokoto state, Sanusi Abubakar, said the bus was carrying 24 passengers when it was set on fire by the bandits. Seven people have fled with injuries and were taken to hospital.

But two residents who reached the scene and helped retrieve the bodies said the bus was overloaded and the bodies burned beyond recognition.

Bandits in Nigeria last year carried out violent attacks targeting villagers and commuters traveling on highways. They also kidnap hundreds of schoolchildren for ransom in the north of the country.
