Rakovski’s police officers arrested a driver who tried to bribe them, Plovdiv’s internal affairs ministry said. At 3:00 on Sunday, while patrolling the village of Belozem, uniformed officers noticed an Opel car crossing a level crossing with the barriers down and the warning lights and sounders on.
The car was immediately stopped and the inspection ascertained the identity of the 49-year-old man behind the wheel. While his employees were drafting a report on the administrative infraction, the driver slipped BGN 40 into the patrol car.
The perpetrator was arrested and taken into police custody for one day. The banknotes were seized by the duty task force that arrived on the spot. In the case, the emergency procedure was initiated pursuant to art. 304, para. 1 of the NC.
