Martin Bojanov – The notary was brutally beaten just before he was shot in the head. This is clear from information from doctors who reviewed photos of the victim after her autopsy.
In the opinion of the non-medics, who wished not to be named, it is clear from the photos that the Notary was forced with an object that was slightly pointed or that had an extension at the end. Bojanov has a broken nose, several skull fractures and facial swelling. Specialists are adamant that these blows occurred before Bojanov’s death and were inflicted with terrible force and a strange object. It is possible that the Notary was beaten with the butt of the gun with which he was subsequently killed.
According to the doctors with whom “Bulgaria Today” talks, the beating was serious and was inflicted before the Notary’s death, because otherwise there should not be blood, swelling and bruises on the face of the victim. They do not appear if the fight is after death.
The notary also had a fracture of the temporal bone, that is, of the temple, which could not have been caused by a bullet, either frontal or transverse, unless it was point blank. But a point-blank shot is ruled out because there is no soot on the forehead, the bullet hole is perfect, and there are no marks from the weapon itself.
After being beaten, Notarius was shot with a single bullet in the head. This suggests that the killer was most likely over his victim when he pulled the trigger. The beating is another puzzling fact.
Since the beginning of the investigation, the general public has been spared various facts related to the murder, and others are decidedly puzzling.
For example, it became clear that the signal about the murder came more than 50 minutes after the liquidation of the Notary. A witness saw the shooter, but did not call, another witness saw Bojanov allegedly fall to the ground from the bullet, but he also did not report the incident. Finally, the Notary’s wife sees on the cameras that her husband is lying next to his car in the parking lot of the closed residential complex in the Gorna Banya quarter, where they live. The initial version was that Notarius was shot in front of his wife and children.
It is also said that the killer shot hidden behind the fence of the complex where the Notary was located. This could not have happened if the victim was beaten immediately before his death.
At the same time, it is unclear why Bojanov’s private club, where he is said to have met with dozens of judges and prosecutors, was searched days after his murder, as well as footage from cameras in the area. The suspect is the question of why the investigators are so slow with the search, leaving enough time for the establishment to be cleared of anything compromising.
It is not clear how the names of dozens of judges and prosecutors were initially found in one of the Notary’s phones. Only days later it turned out that the phones had been formatted and there was no data on the contacts of the murdered man. This will trigger an internal investigation in the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, because there are fears that officials involved in the Notary’s schemes deleted data from his phones.
The notary was liquidated shortly after 7 p.m. on January 31 in a residential complex in the capital’s Gorna Banya district. The murder was reported by his wife Gergana about 50-55 minutes later. The reason was that he went out shopping, but was delayed for a long time. The wife started calling him, but the Notary didn’t pick up. The wife went down to the parking lot and saw her husband’s car and his body next to it.
It later emerged that a camera captured Notarius being shot and falling, but the perpetrator was not seen. According to operational data, the shot was fired outside the complex on the side of the river, through a fence. The bullet is a caliber 9×19 mm, which is the most common cartridge in our country. This makes it even more difficult to find the exact weapon with which the Notary was killed. Some believe that he may have been killed with a Makarov, as it is an extremely reliable gun and bandits are often stocked with just such a gun.
There are currently two versions of the shooting of the Notary. One is that behind the assassination is a conflict from his past. According to another version, lobbyist interests in Themis are at the bottom of the contract killing. The investigators assume that some of the organizers of the attempt may have been out of Bulgaria for a long time, as well as the direct perpetrator.
Acting Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov, together with other prosecutors, entered the building of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office (SRP) to start an investigation into the cases, the state prosecution reports. 21 employees from the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office (SPC) participate in it, and the leader is Viktor Malinov, head of the “Inspector” department of the SPC.
A few days ago, the state prosecution reported that for the period from 2004 to the present, there are 25 files and pre-trial proceedings in connection with the murdered Martin Bojanov-Notary. The majority of them are filed in the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office and are related to possible real estate frauds committed by Bojanov and others, and Borislav Sarafov ordered that all acts be checked. An investigation is already underway at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The actions of the prosecutors are related precisely to the murdered Martin Bojanov-Notariusa, confirmed the chief prosecutor. Sarafov is adamant that they will not hesitate to expel the magistrates who worked for the Notary.
