Within the framework of the expanded hybrid attack of the regime of the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko, efforts have been made in recent months to send thousands of illegal immigrants to Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, most of whom have arrived in Belarus as tourists from Iraq.

Gan Poland, and the EU has accused the Minsk regime of seeking to avenge support for the Belarusian opposition and of sanctions against Belarus in response to last year ‘s violent crackdown on protests.

During this week, five of the illegal immigrants who tried to enter the EU illegally crossing the Polish border were found dead.

“We acknowledge that the Polish authorities are in a difficult situation. This situation has been created by trying to instrumentalize people for political purposes,” the EC spokesman said during a press conference.

However, Poland must protect its border without endangering human lives, added a Commission spokesman.

“The situation is worrying. It would be a good idea to protect our common border with common resources, in particular those provided by the Agency. [“Frontex”], “said the official.

Poland, one of the largest Border Guard forces in the EU, has not requested Frontex assistance, although Lithuania and Latvia have used it in this situation.

Warsaw has declared a state of emergency along the border, preventing journalists and various political activists from entering the area.

The EC has stated that EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ilva Johansson would like to discuss on Friday the financial and other assistance that the bloc could provide, including involving Frontex and organizing a visit of EU experts to the border area.

Meanwhile, the Polish Ministry of the Interior has announced on Twitter that no telephone conversation between Johansson and Interior Minister Marjusz Kaminski is scheduled for Friday.
