The man who showed up on Friday, armed with a knife, at a hospital in Anderlecht, and who made threats there, was subjected to an arrest warrant, the Brussels prosecutor’s office said on Monday.
The suspect, a 24-year-old man from Martelange (province of Luxembourg), arrived at the Sainte-Anne/Saint-Rémi hospital in Anderlecht late Friday morning, armed with a knife. He allegedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” and then said that he was going to die but that he would come back to “kill everyone,” according to witnesses.

He then left the hospital establishment and all other hospitals in the Brussels region were immediately informed of this person’s complaint.
On Friday evening around 21:00, the police traced the suspect to Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and arrested him. This was then referred to the Brussels prosecutor’s office. He was appointed an investigating judge. He charged the suspect with illegal possession of a weapon and issued a warrant for his arrest.
