Zaventem –
A Brussels Airlines plane with 230 passengers on board ran into problems not long after departure from Zaventem, above Bordeaux, and had to return to the airport. The fire brigade rushed to make sure everything is okay.

It concerns an Airbus A330, the largest aircraft of Brussels Airlines, which had departed from Brussels Airport in Zaventem on Sunday afternoon, but had hydraulic problems shortly after departure when it flew over Bordeaux. It was therefore decided to return to Zaventem and to err on the side of caution, according to the airline. “Making a repair is easier in Brussels than in Africa.” The emergency landing ended around 3.20 pm and went well.
The fire brigade is now massively on site to ensure everything runs smoothly. “That is the standard procedure,” says Nathalie Pierard, spokesperson for Brussels Airport. It is not yet clear when the plane will be able to take off again. “We hope that it is still possible today”, says Wencke Lemmes-Pireaux of Brussels Airlines, “but we are not sure”. Air traffic was not delayed.
