The French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire, hosted, Thursday at the campus of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Rabat, a conference on the theme: “Partnership Morocco-France in terms of energy, an asset for Africa and Europe.”
Mr. Le Maire highlighted, on this occasion, the “formidable” field of cooperation between Morocco and France in the field of carbon-free energy which, he said, is fundamental for the independence of Nations.
The minister expressed France’s readiness to develop cooperation with the Kingdom in nuclear power, green hydrogen and solar and wind energy, taking advantage of the strength of ties, friendship and robustness of the historical relations uniting the two countries.
Furthermore, Mr. Le Maire underlined the importance of working together on the production and export of green hydrogen as part of equal cooperation between two great nations, Morocco and France.
The French minister, on the other hand, affirmed that the enormous potential available to Morocco in terms of solar and wind energy “makes people dream,” pleading for the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy transport.
On another note, the French minister stressed that Morocco’s organization of the 2030 Football World Cup, with Spain and Portugal, constitutes a considerable factor of attractiveness, expressing his country’s desire to establish partnerships with the Kingdom in the field of infrastructure (building, hotels, catering, satellite links, etc.).
“We want the World Cup in Morocco to be an additional opportunity to strengthen economic ties between our two nations,” he continued.
“The future lies in the rebirth of economic relations between Morocco and France which will be decisive for the African and European continents,” concluded Mr. Le Maire.
