Now Labbadia should save the club from falling into the second division and take over the training on Easter Monday, April 13th. It was already clear that Nouri would have to leave after the season ended.
Labbadia: Hertha an association “with a clear, ambitious plan”
“First of all, I would like to thank Alex Nouri, Markus Feldhoff and Werner Leuthard for their willingness to continue to look after the team after Jürgen Klinsmann’s short-term resignation,” said Hertha’s managing director Michael Preetz and explained: “It was clearly agreed that we want to fill the position of head coach in the summer. ” The club had decided to use the Corona compulsory break to “prepare the team for a possible continuation of the season in the next few weeks and to prefer our decision on the coaching position,” it said in a statement by the club.
Labbadia has also already commented on his new job. In a message from the club, he said: “My team and I are really looking forward to this task. Hertha BSC is a club with a clear, ambitious plan for the future. We are very excited to be part of this plan and the further development of Hertha There is a lot of work ahead of us. We will start from Monday in compliance with the currently applicable rules and prepare ourselves as best as possible for the day when football will be played again. “
Hertha under Nouri with just one win
In the Bundesliga, which has been at least until the end of April due to the corona crisis, Hertha is currently in 13th place. However, the lead over the relegation place is only six points. Under Nouri, Berlin has only won one out of four games so far.
Nouri had taken over the Bundesliga club, which was threatened with relegation, from Jürgen Klinsmann, for whom he had worked as an assistant during his short term.
Labbadia had recently worked successfully at VfL Wolfsburg and led the team into the Europa League. His contract with the Lower Saxony was not extended last summer. Labbadia, which is expected to be officially presented in a press conference on Easter Monday, is expected to get a contract in Berlin until 2022.
