Bruniquel: a stroll under a starry sky with the association La Dernière Science

The Last Science, a Montauban association, is offering a stargazing evening on September 7, guided by Didier Belloc. The public is invited to discover the stars with a poetic approach in Bruniquel (Tarn-et-Garonne).

This is the very first event of the Dernière Science. This Montauban association created last spring is organizing this Saturday, September 7th at nightfall an evening of stargazing commented by Didier Belloc, an astronomy enthusiast. Guide and storyteller, the speaker will invite the public to discover the stars from a poetic angle. Upon arrival on site, at the dolmen of Pech n° 4, route de Monclar in Bruniquel, you will be able to observe the stars with the Montauban astro club, a Spanish inn is planned on site before starting the walk. Free registration must be done in advance on the association’s website ladernierescience.org

“We already have more than 50 participants for this first, proof that there is public interest in scientific issues, estimates Christophe Belloc, president of the association. We created the Dernière Science to bring together people who are passionate about scientific issues.” Its goal is to organize events throughout the year like this astronomy evening but is already working on developing a program of conferences on sports medicine, artificial intelligence, etc., always with the desire to speak to as many people as possible, to popularize science.

“Our mission is to demystify science and make it accessible to everyone, regardless of age or financial means. We organize a variety of events, giving the floor to experts. We are also aiming to create an astronomy festival from 2025, explains the president of the association. We are also aiming for a connection with the world of education by partnering with the European Space Agency to promote science in middle and high schools.”

This Saturday, September 7, don’t forget your hiking shoes and headlamp to walk safely under a starry sky…
