The Hollywood actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
At the Hollywood actor Bruce Willis doctors diagnosed one of the most severe forms of dementia – frontotemporal.
Actress Demi Moore announced the disappointing diagnosis of the ex-husband and friend. On her Instagram page, she wrote that the aphasia that the Die Hard star developed last year is just one of the symptoms of this disease:
“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in the spring of 2022, his condition has progressed, and now we have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as PTSD). Unfortunately, communication problems are just one of the symptoms of the disease that Bruce is facing. Although it is painful, finally getting a clear diagnosis is a relief, “Moore said in her message.
On February 16, an official statement from the family of Bruce Willis appeared on the website of the Frontotemporal Dementia Association. It says, in part, that to date there is no cure for this disease, but the star’s family hopes that “this reality may change in the coming years.”
Note that on average, after the onset of symptoms of dementia, people can live five to seven years.
Recall that in March 2022, the daughters of Bruce Willis issued an official statement in which they said that the Hollywood star was diagnosed with aphasia, a speech disorder that occurs after brain damage. Because of it, speech and cognitive abilities are affected. Due to illness, Willis was forced to retire from acting.
