Last year the family of Bruce Willis revealed that the actor suffers from frontotemporal dementia, so he had to retire from acting. Little by little, some details have become known about the actor’s state of health and recently his daughter spoke about the subject.
Tallulah Willis, daughter of the “Sixth Sense” actor and Demi Moore, attended the program Drew Barrymore where she talked about the dementia that her father suffers from, which he described as aggressive.
We recommend: Bruce Willis no longer recognizes Demi Moore and is “devastated” by the actor’s health
“He has a really aggressive cognitive disease, a form of dementia that is very rare.”
In the talk, the 29-year-old explained that during this time she has spent time with her father listening to music and also assured that, despite the illness, Bruce Willis has not changed.
“It’s also a big part of how I spend time with him now, listening to music and just sitting in this energy of love. It is truly special (…), it is the same…what I think, which in this sense, I have learned is the best you can ask for. And what I see is love when I’m with him. And he is my dad and he loves me.”
When asked about the reason why his family made public the illness suffered by Bruce Willis He said they want to raise awareness about frontotemporal dementia.
“On the one hand, it’s who we are as a family, but it’s also very important for us to raise awareness about frontotemporal dementia.”
The young woman commented that she has been a kind of archaeologist with her father because she tells him what her life has been like and has tried to make him remember some things.
“If we can take something that we’re struggling with as a family and individually, help other people, turn it around to make it something beautiful, that’s very special to us. And something that has been truly beautiful for me has been healing through becoming an archaeologist of my dad’s things, his world, his little things and nonsense.”
Finally, he said that, although he has had difficult months due to his father’s illness, he has also seen the positive in the situation.
“The best thing I have learned throughout this journey, whether on my own, or through what is happening with my dad and the way our family has come together in this wonderful tapestry of feminine energy, is to make space to talk. On a personal level (…), with this, I have been able to find a lot of love for myself, which is truly special.”
