For many months, Bruce Willis has been battling incurable dementia. His family provides less than reassuring news about his state of health.
It was following a diagnosis of dementia in March 2022 that Bruce Willis was forced to end his career. Since then, this form of incurable dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease has been more precisely diagnosed.
“Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more precise diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia. Unfortunately, communication problems are just one symptom of the illness Bruce faces. Although it is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” expressed his daughter according to “Closer” magazine. More difficult for older people to live with, this neurological disease manifests itself on a daily basis through memory problems, changes in behavior, but also difficulty moving and expressing oneself.
A few months ago, his wife, Emma Heming, shared in a video on Instagram that “the FTD [la démence fronto-temporale N.D.L.R.] affects the anterior and temporal lobes of the brain. Today, there is no single cure or treatment for this disease.” She also confided on the “Today” show that it is “difficult to know” if Bruce is aware of what is happening to him.
Endless support from the Willis family
Since the announcement of his illness, Bruce Willis has been supported by his entire family and in particular his wife Emma Heming-Willis. From this second marriage, model Emma Heming and Bruce Willis gave birth to Mabel Ray, born in 2012, and Evelyn Penn, on May 5, 2014.
Also, in his fight against dementia, the 68-year-old former actor can count on his ex-wife Demi Moore and his first three daughters, now adults: Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, the youngest, 29. years.
