Bruce Springsteen has declared his support for Kamala Harris in the upcoming 2024 United States presidential election.
“The Boss,” 75, who participated in several Barack Obama rallies during his election campaign, joined Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence as other celebrities who have shown their support for Harris.
The musician shared a reel on his Instagram account in which he expressed his support, saying in a cafeteria: “Friends, fans and the press have asked me who I support in the most important of the elections. And with full knowledge that my opinions (are) no more or less important than those of any of my fellow citizens, here is my response: I support Kamala Harris for president and Tim Walz for vice president.”
Bruce added that November’s presidential election is the “most important” of his life and that the United States has not felt so divided “politically, spiritually and emotionally” since the Civil War.
The E Street Band leader added: “Right now, it doesn’t have to be that way.”
Bruce also called Donald Trump, Harris’ rival in the White House race, the “most dangerous” presidential candidate in the world, adding: “He doesn’t understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply US”.
And he added that Harris and her running mate Walz are “committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, political viewpoint or sexual identity.”
Bruce continued: “They want to grow our economy in a way that benefits everyone, not just a few like me at the top. That is the vision of America that I have been writing about constantly for 55 years. Everyone sees things differently, and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen. But like you, I only have one vote and it is one of the most precious possessions I have.
