Brown will not need facial surgery

Boston Celtics officials hope Jaylen Brown won’t need surgery after he fractured his face in the NBA.
Boston’s head of basketball operations, Brad Stephens, said Brown was unlikely to face a prolonged layoff, after receiving an unintentional “elbow” from teammate Jason Tatum.
Stevens told reporters, “The latest news about Gaylen Brown, he will not need surgery, and we’ll see how he feels in the coming days. He’s already equipped to wear a mask, but he still feels it and that’s not great.”
Boston explained that Brown suffered a facial fracture, which he suffered during the victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, when he was trying to catch a rebound with teammate Tatum.
Brown, 26, who has held the colors of the green team since 2016, is presenting his best levels, with an average of 27 points per game and 7.1 rebounds, with the Celtics leading the league standings this season.
Brown missed his team’s last victory over his guest Charlotte Hornets 127-116, as he raised his tally to 40 wins and 16 losses at the top of his region and the league.
