Brown and Tatum guide Celtics to victory over Pacers

BOSTON (AP) — Jaylen Brown scored 32 points and Jayson Tatum added 31 as the Boston Celtics overcame a rare late-season stumble and beat the Indiana Pacers 128-123 on Friday night.

The Pacers lost their sixth straight game despite receiving 30 points from Tyrese Haliburton before he was fouled out in the fourth quarter. At that point, Indiana was leading 103-101.

The visiting team managed to keep the score tight, even at 124-120, when Al Horford found Tatum in the alley, for a dunk that practically ensured the victory for Boston.

Horford had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who had won 24 of 28 games before losing to Toronto on Monday without four of their starters. On Wednesday, they were defeated by Miami.

It was the first time they’d lost in a row in two months as they climbed from under .500 to lead the Eastern Conference.
