Salar Azimi has issued a statement through his lawyer Alfons Bals. His counsel confirms that his client is not concerned at all about the investigation against him and Sasan.
“We’ve been in business since 2005,” says the flamboyant self-proclaimed millionaire through Bals. “We always work in a fair manner, and we have also been checked many times. No criminal offenses have ever been established. I therefore have every confidence in the outcome of the research. ”
Bals is not allowed to give a substantive response to his client – just like his brother, an asylum seeker who came to the Netherlands from Iran a quarter of a century ago – is out of limitations. He also does not want to answer the question of how his client is doing. “I can, but I won’t.”
Free
Salar and his brother Sasan will most likely be released for the time being on Friday. The residents of the Zeeland village of Aardenburg remain suspects in the fraud case against them. The Public Prosecution Service confirms this against De Telegraaf.
“The legal term to detain them expired on Friday,” said a spokesperson for the Zeeland-West-Brabant Public Prosecution Service. That goes at 90 o’clock. This period can only be extended if there are very compelling reasons. In that case, permission must be granted by the examining magistrate. “But that does not seem necessary. We therefore assume that they will be released for the time being. ”
Fraud
The brothers remain suspects in the investigation. They are suspected of fraud, including money laundering. Salar and Sasan Azimi, who participated in the popular SBS program Very Poor Poor, numerous data carriers were seized during the raid on their residential castle and hotel De Elderschans that they own.
Eight other suspects have been heard in connection with the case in recent days. “But these persons are not detained,” said the spokesman.
