Jakarta –
Yuslih Ihza Mahendra, The elder brother of the Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra moved to the Democratic Party. Revealed Yuslih got angry before leaving the UN.
At first, Yuslih revealed that he had officially had a Democrat Party membership card (KTA) and had met with several high-ranking Democrats, one of which was the Chairman of the Bappilu Democrat Party, Andi Arief. He said he was well received by the Democrats.
“I already have a KTA, it’s official, I’m reporting acquaintances with your father at the DPP, I came there myself, the office in North Jakarta. Yes, so I arrived at the reception and reported from Bangka Belitung, introduce myself, I intend to meet DPP people whoever is here, wants to get together. He said ‘okay wait here’. Then someone reported upstairs and was told to go to the Bappilu room, there were 6 people 7 people we chatted for a while. I’m happy to be received well, responded, ” Yuslih said when contacted detik.comThursday (2/6/2022).
Yuslih then briefly told the Democratic cadres about his track record of being a member of the council in Bangka Belitung several times until he became the Regent of Bangka Belitung defeating Ahok’s brother. Yuslih emphasized that the decision to move the party was his personal choice.
“Essentially I came here, life is a choice, my choice, I hope that I can raise the Democratic party in the future. Yes, actually (motivation) is the same as to keep growing the party, for the greatness of the party, I say with my presence in Belitung right, there is only 1 seat, in East Belitung there is only 1 seat, if I’m not mistaken there are 5 in the province, hopefully 6 in the future,” he said.
In addition, Yuslih revealed that he was disappointed with the UN. But he did not explain in detail what made him disappointed.
“Actually, I’m a disappointment too, so I’ll try to take part in other people’s (parties) if I can, and I don’t think that’s a sacred thing anymore, it’s not a sacred thing, it’s okay for people to change parties, right? This is democracy,” he said.
Furthermore, Yuslih did not deny that there were negative talks regarding his decision to move to Democrats. He emphasized that he had also tried to raise the United Nations before deciding to leave.
“There are people who say that when he grew up a party, he moved to another party, left his party, now he has forgotten his party. If I don’t like that, I can see from two sides, firstly he was brought up by the party, but he grew the party in his time, in his era, right? I’ve been a member of the provincial council twice, I’m the only one sitting there, nothing else, where does the UN fly, just because I’m flying. So I’m the regent too,” he explained.
“So, after all, don’t look at it with one eye, grow up the party, then leave the party, which means, it’s not good, no, that’s positive too,” he continued.
Yuslih hopes that his relationship with Yusril will be fine even though he has decided to move. He emphasized again that changing parties is not a sacred thing.
“Yes, after all we are the same old, right, I think what it means is this problem is only for a moment, it’s okay, it’s okay. This is not a sacred thing, so hopefully it’s okay,” he said.
