A FIRE in Brooklyn, New York left one firefighter dead and nearly a dozen others injured on Sunday afternoon.
The three-alarm fire started just after 1:30 p.m. and more than 100 FDNY members worked to put out the flames, a spokesperson said.
Two civilians were also injured in the incident. All were taken to area hospitals, but their conditions are not immediately known at this time.
The fire was brought under control. Neighbors in the area have been encouraged by authorities to close their windows due to possible smoke inhalation.
