The social networks of Brooklyn Nine-Nine have of course paid tribute to the actor. A photo of Andre Braugher was shared there, with a short message: “Always our captain. We love you Andre.”
“Oh captain, my captain”
Many actors from the series also paid tribute. Terry Crews first, who, in the series, played Agent Jefford. On Instagram, he said “I don’t believe it”. “I am honored to have known you, to have laughed with you, to have worked with you and to have spent eight seasons watching your irreplaceable talent. […] Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship,” he added.
Actor Marc Evan Jackson, who plays her husband in the series, shared a photo on X (ex-Twitter). “Oh captain, my captain,” he captioned it. Melissa Fumero, Amy Santiago on the series, shared a simple photo of Captain Holt’s office, lights off and seat empty. His colleague Chelsea Perretti, who played Gina, the department’s whimsical assistant, remembers a man “so funny”. “I was really hoping and thinking I would see you again.” I am devastated to know that this will not be the case,” she said on Instagram.
” Grateful “
He was married since 1991 to Ami Brabson, his sidekick in the series Homicide, and was the father of three boys: Michael, Isaiah and John Wesley. “So many wonderful stories will be told about Andre, but for now, all my love goes to his wife Ami and his three boys, whom he loved dearly and came home for every weekend from filming of the series,” Joe Lo Truglio, Detective Charles Boyle in the series, confided on Instagram. “He often talked about his sons and knew how lucky he was to have Ami. I am grateful to them for allowing us to share eight years with him,” thanked the actor.
