Brooklyn Museum celebrates fashion designer Christian Dior

New York. The Brooklyn Museum in New York is celebrating the French fashion designer Christian Dior (1905-1957) with a large exhibition. The opulent show, which should be on view until February 2022, shows clothing and accessories as well as drawings, photos and films. Already at the opening on Friday, many people streamed into the exhibition, the previous versions of which had already been shown in Paris and London, among other places. Fashion Week also runs until Sunday in New York.

Second largest exhibition center in New York

The Brooklyn Museum, which opened in 1887, is the second largest exhibition space in the metropolis of New York. It houses scientific and ethnological collections as well as design and art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

The museum is currently showing the famous portraits of former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, painted by Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald, for a few weeks. The pictures usually hang in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, but are currently on tour in the United States. Before New York, they could be seen in Chicago, with stops in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Houston planned.
