Money Perkins was shot dead inside the laundromat he owned in Brooklyn (NYC) and the crime left three children orphaned.
The homicide happened shortly before 6 pm on December 1 and no one has yet been arrested. Neighbors have also not found answers about what happened to Perkins, because for them his laundry business on Clarendon Road was not just about making money.

“If we didn’t have soap, he provided it for us. If you ran out, he didn’t worry about that kind of thing. If you left, he would put the money in the machine. He provided free bags. He just did a lot. He did everything he could. “He would help you get to your car,” he told Pix11 Priscilla Sherrod, resident of East Flatbush.

Perkins was a husband and father of three children: a 17-year-old teenager, an 8-year-old girl and a 2-year-old baby boy. The police said that the four suspects took his gold chain. “We are sick and tired of this. When are we going to end the senseless gun violence in the black and brown community?” asked Natasha Christopher, coordinator of the group “Mothers for Safe Cities.”
Local leaders like Public Advocate for the City of NYC, Jumaane Williams, have said that gun violence must be addressed from all angles, including provide more prevention resources in vulnerable communities and more support to victims’ families. But the first thing to do in this case is justice.
