NEW YORK — A 70-year-old employee was brutally beaten with a hammer while working at a Brooklyn laundromat.
The worker was inside the laundry, located in the 255 East 98 Street, on August 4, when a suspect entered the location and attempted to remove items of merchandise without paying for them, police said. The employee at that time approached the alleged thief who took a hammer from the place and began to hit the victim about four times in the head with the utensil, the uniformed woman added.
The suspect then dropped the items he was trying to steal and fled the scene with the hammer that was used to hit the victim. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for head lacerations, police said.
